FedCup Golf

If you're attending the Applicon reunion, you may also be interested in participating in this year's FedCup Golf Tournament, organized by Joanie Nevins.

For the last four years, a small but loyal band of Applicon alumni has participated in a golf tournament called the FedCup to raise money for the Dana Farber Cancer Foundation in memory of Don Feddersen who was taken from us in 2005. This year, we are hoping our numbers will grow by planning to hold the 5th Annual FedCup on the day of our reunion, Friday, September 25th.

We plan to play at Butter Brook Golf Club in Westford, Mass., about 30 minutes from the Café Escadrille where the reunion will be held. We have reserved three tee times (12 players) for that day beginning at 1:00 p.m. Greens fees are $77, which you may pay that day when you check in. If we need additional slots, we can get them as long as we hear reasonably soon. Also on the day of the outing, we ask for a check for $50 from each golfer made out to Dana Farber for your charitable contribution in Don’s memory.

The only prizes we offer are:

  1. Winner's name engraved on the FedCup (yes, we have a real trophy donated by Steve Cheheyl and already bearing the names of Dave Miller, Bob MacCormack, Cathy Feddersen, and Tom Genova as past winners) and

  2. A really good feeling that you have done something to support Don's memory and may be contributing the actual money that finally delivers a cure for the cancer that took Don and affects so many lives every year.
